The Generalization Suggestion
Now, it may seem idiotic to suggest something that is so widely shunned, but let me explain as it pertains to this forum. All throughout the, "Other Great Games" section, I see a list of these great games, and indeed they are, but there are also great games out there as well. If you add all of these great games that people believe, then quite shortly the whole first page of the forum would be clustered with all these games. So, to reconcile that, why don't we just have general boards in this category to cover all of the games? There may be a section for, "Shooter Games" such as Call of Duty, and there would also be another section for, "Strategy Games" such as Civilization IV. In this way, you don't leave anybody out and you don't favor anybody in.

RE: The Generalization Suggestion
It is with common sense that I endorse this suggestion to the utmost of my belief. There is no use in specifying upon such a wide array that is the field of gaming. If you allow the members to choose and discuss what games they will, however, then you have yourself an impeccable system that will never collapse upon itself because of accusations of favoritism and whatnot.

RE: The Generalization Suggestion
Not a bad idea guys...
The only thing that would concern me would be that members may have a difficult time finding their favorite game thread if it's not a category or subcategory. Perhaps we could have the "Shooter Games" category, as you suggest, and then populate that section with subcategories of all the games that fit. The same for all the other main categories What categories do you think would cover all the bases? You mentioned "Shooter Games" and "Strategy Games" Lets try to come up with a list of categories that would encompass all of the game genres. If we can come up with a good list of genres and maybe a list of subcategories I may consider the changes to the forum. For the moment, I'm on the fence. |

RE: The Generalization Suggestion
If that is the way you want to break it down, then I guess these categories would work.
Action/Adventure - Shooter - Fighting - Horror/Fantasy Role-Playing Simulation - Driving - Flight - Life Strategy - Real Time - Turn Based Sports - Wrestling/Boxing - Football - Basketball - Soccer - Baseball - Hockey - Hunting/Fishing - Golf - Boarding/Blading Rhythm - Instrumental - Singing/Karaoke - Dancing I may be missing some and I'm not sure if you want ALL those sub categories, but this would be a start if this is the way you want to do it. RE: The Generalization Suggestion
As for me, I think that I like the "Other Great Games" but would like to see a few more titles such as assassins creed but then again I guess everyone has their favorites.
Maybe more "generalized" categories would be the way to go... |

RE: The Generalization Suggestion
If anything, Fallout 3 should be ripped away from the title "great."

Maybe there could be a couple of vehicles to get around in (like the new RAGE game!!), but other than that the game really is a blast to play. Maybe it's not your fav but hey man, to each their own

RE: The Generalization Suggestion
I agree with addict. Also, if you want to play a Fallout game with a car, then you can try Fallout 2

RE: The Generalization Suggestion
I should write up more stuff. I've got essays on another forum about BioShock and Dead Space, and little amateur-ish lists about Half-Life 2 and Mass Effect and why they all suck.
I should probably not be aggressive toward other peoples' opinions, but I have absolutely no clue how people can like Fallout 3, but everyone seems too. :\ It is my opinion that all your opinions are wrong. |
